Zachary, just driving from his Realtors office, had the keys to his new house. He couldn't believe it. He was a home owner and he was extremely excited. It had just went on the market, and Zachary made an offer to the previous owners that they couldn't refuse. As he pulled up to his new house he smiled. As he had been told, it was fully furnished, with a nice big screen TV and a library/office. The bedroom had a California King bed-set with a huge walk-in closet that could fit 30 people.
Zachary pulled into the driveway and parked his black Nissan Sentra in the garage and he practically flew toward the door. He walked in and almost died on the spot. The entire house was white. And he knew immediately that he would have to redecorate, not that it would be a problem seeing that amount of money that his parent left him was insurmountable. He walked around the house, almost in awe for the most part, still trying to take in the fact that he owned a house. He was only 19, but still 16 in appearance, so it was surreal for him, even if he was immortal.
He took what he had out of storage and arranged his things in a fashion that he liked. It would only be a matter of hours that he would send invitations to everyone he had already met in Forks for his house warming party. Plus he wanted to invite the dog smelling boy, Jacob, because they both seemed to have an interest in protecting Renesmee.
He decided to change and start setting up for the party. He was wearing a baby blue Hollister t-shirt, with some dark wash blue jeans from there as well. He hand wrote the party invitations and then had them delivered to everyone in Forks, and one to La Plush.
After wards, Zachary started to string millions of white twinkling Christmas lights around the trees in the front of his house, and then intertwining the white lights with the ones in the back yard with light blue ones. He lit a fire in the pit, and had some chairs set up all around the back yard. Zachary had several tables set up of catered food that had arrived just after he did and then he organized it how he wanted it, fussing over every little detail. He almost wished he was human for a few seconds, so that he could smoke a cigarette as he used to, but then laughed, reminding himself of all the advantages that he had gained since the day he died.
Finally deciding that the decorations were good enough, he went to the computer, tracking down his transcripts, and trying to fabricate an alibi about to why his parents weren't with him in Forks.

Dusk was just starting to touch the trees as Garrett made his way up the street. He had been up at Newton's store admiring the new hunting knives when he heard whispers of some young new hottie in town. Garrett didn't usually pay much attention to the gossip of teenage girls, in fact he did his best to avoid it. However their talk had caught his attention when the squirrely teens mentioned the newcomers likeness to the Cullens; pale, beautiful, with the token vegetarian eye color.
Forks (and the areas surrounding) had become home for Garrett. It was strange for him to name a place as such, having been a wanderer for so long. But, meeting the right woman would do that to you. A wide smile grew on his unshaven face as his thoughts lingered on the image of Kate. What a woman! From the that first time she zapped him with her abilities he knew he would never stray far from where she was. Garrett shook his mane of scraggly blonde hair to bring himself out of his fanciful dreaming. He couldn't believe he had turned into such a softy! In any case he made it his business to know about...others that moved into the neighborhood.
He paused in the road and inhaled deeply. How he loved the smell of fall! Leaves never sounded or smelled quite as good as in the fall. And campfire! There was a fire burning somewhere... "Damnit Garrett stay on task." he scolded himself. Garrett was never to good at staying focused on one thing. He inhaled again, this time focusing his thoughts on the scent he was looking for, vampire. It came to him subtly mixed in with the smell of the fire. He thrust his hands in his pockets and followed his nose to the house.
Garrett was no stranger to meeting new people, but it was kind of an awkward situation. Should he just march on up and knock on the door? Hey there I'm the friendly neighborhood vampire welcoming committee! Here's a bottle of vintage grizzly blood? It'd be ridiculous. And so he found himself standing just in front of the house, thumbs looped now on his belt buckle, debating how to go about making an introduction.

Carmen skipped down the street. She had just hunted and was feeling great! Passing a cluster of recently sold houses, she stopped dead.
Carmen inhaled. And again. Yep. That was definetly vampire. And something else, something familiar. Oh right. Duh. Garrett, her sister's mate. Carmen almost gagged. They were so lovey, it was hard to be in the same room with them for 5 minutes.
The pieces clicked in her head. Garrett and another vampire. Dammit, Garrett! Welcome wagon, huh? she thought irritably. Boy, would that turn out well. This new vampire (who was probably NOT a vegitarian) would doubtfully welcome Garrett on his random newcomer patrols.
She streaked down the rest of the street and stopped at the house. Oh yeah. That was Garrett alright.

Garrett had been standing alone in the street for some time now, caught somewhere between marching up to the door or just calling it quits. Afterall it wasn't exactly wise for him to barge into a situation he wasn't sure about. He only smelled one newcomer but that didn't mean there weren't more he was missing. Maybe they weren't even vegetarians? In that case there might be trouble. Certainly the Cullens would've known about any dangerous additions to the neighborhood?
"Hmmm," he halfway grumbled to himself, narrowing his eyes at the house. Might be best to wait. Least I know where they set up shop.
It was at that moment he became very aware of the fact he was no longer alone on the street, as his sister-in-law damn near gave him a heart attack. Well...if he'd been capable of one in the first place.
"Carmen!" he said her name almost like a curse word. "You damn near scared me to death!" he chuckled a bit at his own ridiculous pun as he turned to smile at her.
"What does it look like I'm doing? Or has your nose gotten soft?" he joked, giving her nose a playful tap with his finger.

Carmen rolled her eyes.
"No. But honestly, do you have to put every new vampire that moves into the neighborhood through the third degree? Don't you think that sooner or later someone's gonna get pissed?" She repeated her musings from earlier. "This new one's probably NOT a vegetarian. I'd watch youself, Garrett." She assumed a tone of mock dignity. "After all, it is my job to ensure that Kate's fragile heart is not broken by a strange disappearance or death. Of YOU. And pretty much to annoy the hell out of you. But that's okay, too!" Carmen finished brightly.
Carmen poked Garrett's shoulder, making him wobble. " I got your back, in-law."

Garrett's lips never left their wide smile all through Carmen's rant. How she liked to lecture.
It had taken some adjusting, going from being a traveler to living with the Denali's. He'd spent so many years just looking out for himself, and now not only did he have a mate to care for, but in-laws as well. Not to mention being near the Cullens, who were as good as family. He liked it. The company, that is. And it was because of this whole "family" concept that Garrett endured Carmen's teasings with little complaint. When not looking out for you the general duty of ones family is to drive you crazy, isn't it?
"You know Carmen, it's a good thing you're not a super-villain. The hero would always escape given the length of your monologues." he quickly moved to the side, putting some space between him and Carmen to prevent any more poking.
"And nevermind what am I doing here, what are you doing here?" he asked, his eyes shifting from their focus on Carmen and scanning the surrounding areas. "And where's Kate?" Garrett wasn't delusional. He knew Kate was perfectly capable of taking care of herself. He just preferred to not be away from her for extended periods.

[ooc; it's delusional......dur]
"Monologue, eh? I'll show you monologue!" Carmen made to pounce on her brother in-law and then thought better of it. This new vampire would definetly hear an in-law vampire brawl on his doorstep. So instead, she settled for another poke and made to answer his questions.
"Kate is....tell you the truth, I have no idea where Kate is. She's probably off getting it on with some wacko human. Ya know, just playing the succubus!" She giggled. Her badly formed joke would be sure to set Garrett on fire.
"You know, Garrett, there is a reason why I'm here and that is because.....well, when I remember I'll tell you."she joked. "Oh yeah, that's right! Looking for you. I heard rumors of a new one in the neighborhood, and I figured I'd come and see if you had decided to roll out the freaking welcome wagon. Why did my sister have to fall in love with the village idiot?"

(ooc: Well if you wanna play it that way, it's "definitely"
Garrett sighed loudly as he made a quick movement to avoid Carmen's poking. Carmen may have been sneaky but Garrett was still agile. Again his ocre eyes made a sweep of the surrounding areas. His focus drifted away from Carmen as his eyes rested on the house belonging to the new vampire. You'll have to wait. It was pretty chilly out and he really hadn't paid attention to how long he'd been contemplating outside on the street. Not exactly human like behavior, especially in this cold.
His focus returned to Carmen when she mentioned not knowing where Kate was. He arched an eyebrow at her jests but made no comment beyond that. He shrugged his shoulders forward and in doing so pulled his suede jacket closer around him. He started down the darkening street back the way he came, brow furrowed now in concentration. Where the hell was Kate? Maybe he'd head into town and see who was around.
"Are you coming?" he asked over his shoulder, still heading towards downtown Forks."

[ooc; sooooooorry! xD]
Carmen started. It took her a minute because her focus had wandered, but she looked at Garrett. He was walking at human pace back toward Forks. She supposed that made sense, for it wasn't very normal for two humans to stand deliberating on someone's doorstep for half an hour.
"Are you coming?" Garrett asked, farther down the lane.
